Diagnostic Hearing Evaluations and Consultations
The first step in determining the type, degree, configuration, and symmetry of your hearing loss is a thorough diagnostic hearing evaluation. Your evaluation includes a variety of measurements to rule out any medically treatable causes of hearing loss.
Speech testing in quiet and noisy situations is also used to determine your ability to process speech sounds. Your audiologist will explain your test results and guide you towards the best hearing aid style for your unique type of hearing loss and your personal listening needs.
Hearing Aid Adjustments
At Hearing Zone, you'll receive precise hearing aid adjustments and programming thanks to our experienced team and state-of-the-art equipment. Most of today's hearing aids use digital processing and are reprogrammed by connecting the hearing aid to a computer.
Hearing Aid Repairs
If you're experiencing problems with your hearing aids, we can help! Hearing Zone is equipped with a full-service lab, and our experienced staff is always available to assist you with professional hearing aid repairs. We're often able to repair your hearing aid in-house while you wait.
If your hearing aid is in need of extensive repairs, we'll send it to the appropriate manufacturer for you.
Real Ear Measurement
During your fitting process, we'll place a miniature microphone next to your eardrum so that we can measure the output of the hearing instrument at your eardrum. This Speech Mapping test will allow us to ensure that you have the most precise hearing aid fitting for your needs.
Cerumen (Earwax) Management and removal
If you have a large buildup of cerumen, we can use suction, irrigation, or physical manipulation to quickly and easily remove any blockages. In severe cases of impaction, we may refer you to a physician.
We'll complete a visual inspection of your ear canal to check for obstructions, wax blockages, or signs of outer or middle ear infections. Video otoscopy is different from a standard otoscopy because it projects an image of your ear canal onto a large screen. This allows you to look into your own ear along with your audiologist.
Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE) testing is a method of measuring sounds produced by the components of the inner ear (cochlear outer hair cells). OAE testing helps your audiologist determine if your inner ear is functioning properly and can show signs of hearing loss earlier than you'd get with standard testing.
Baseline Hearing Evaluations and Extended High-Frequency Evaluations for Hearing Conservation or Oncology Treatments
Middle Ear Evaluations
Tympanometry and acoustic reflex testing are completed to determine if you have a middle ear problem that's contributing to or causing your hearing loss.
Amplification and Hearing Aids
At Hearing Zone, you'll find a variety of all the latest digital hearing aids from a wide range of manufacturers. As our lifestyles become more demanding, hearing aid technology needs to be more sophisticated than ever before.
